Piazza of Monte Berico

The square in front of the church atop Monte Berico overlooks the town and makes for more great picture taking.  On a clear day you can see Marostica and the castle atop the hill.  A quick stop at the bar near the church will give us a chance to cool off and have a drink before beginning our return down.  La piazza di Monte Berico is a popular meeting place for young people, it provides a cool breeze on hot summer nights and affords a wonderful view of the city at the same time.  You'll often find young musicians playing guitars or artists sketching Vicenza up here.  There are also two fine restaurants where you can eat and drink to your heart's content.  In the picture on the right we can see Andrea Palladio's Basilica with the tower in the piazza and the Duomo to the left of it.  The main park in town - Parco Querini is in the background.
