Just past Bepi's supermarket about 100 meters from the B&B is Pizzeria Vittorio, where you'll find authentic Napolitano pizza, calzone and typical Cucina Mediterranea. Vittorio's pizzeria has a sort of cult following because the pizza they make is unique in all of Vicenza. While most pizzerias in town make a thin crust Northern Italian pizza, Vittorio's is thicker and they really lay on the sauce and toppings. It's not just the fabulous pizzas at Vittorio's that draw the crowds in the evening, but the easy going busy atmosphere of a genuine Napolitano pizzeria. The family numbers 12 in all and at any given time you may well find 4 or 5 of them in the pizzeria. Both Max (who makes the pizzas) and Beppe (who serves them) are fun-spirited and spontaneous, entertaining the crowds while rolling out the pizzas. It's a scene you won't want to miss and the pizza just can't be beat! |
