The quiet little Northern Italian town of Nove near Marostica is a half hour from Vicenza. Nove is well known for its production of fine ceramics and pottery. For over 3 centuries local artisans have been imitating Chinese porcelain and manufacturing ceramics from clay found in the subsoil of the Brenta river which passes thru Nove on its way down from Bassano.

Many of the ceramics shops in Nove are small family run businesses where the art of Italian pottery design and secrets of fine ceramics production is a tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation. Often the owners are more than happy to take you on a little tour of their ceramics shop and show off some of their prized collections of antiques in addition to their own ceramic production.  They take pride in their pottery, and in our honest opinion - with good reason!
