San Giorgio Church

The oldest and arguably one of the most beautiful churches in town is San Giorgio located on the southern side of Vicenza and at the beginning of Gogna.  Many young people book the church for weddings in maintaining with Italian tradition and hold receptions at nearby restaurants scattered around Sant'Agostino.  Gogna is known for its rock climbing area and lovely hills leading up to Monte Berico. 

Follow the road past the church of San Giorgio and proceed up to the top of the hill over the train tracks.  You will pass an Agip gas station to your right and the road will curve around and up.  At the top of the road you will be at the foot of Monte Berico and the train station will be behind you.  You will actually be above the train tracks once you arrive at the top and there are some surprising picturesque views.
